Maine Island Trip
Experience the beauty and serenity of Maine’s wilderness with registered Maine Guide, Maine Master Naturalist, and experienced teacher, Bill McClellan.
Come join us on a full day trip on Maine’s Islands. This all-day trip will start with traveling on a Maine State Ferry (or charter boat) to Maine Island for exploration of the natural history, and local Maine history. Enjoy a picnic lunch with time to explore, swim, and walk around the island. Bring your camera too! You will come back with a new appreciation for Maine’s marine wilderness preserved by Maine’s Islands. Please note that the meeting location and gear list will be sent to you in your confirmation email. Prices are per person, two person minimum.

What to Bring: Optional: What is provided by Guide:Skill requirement: Walking uphill and down for a period of about 4 hours. Must be at least 12 years old, 16 years old and under require parental supervision.
Physical requirements: Must be able to walk over moderate terrain for 4 hours, for about 3-5 miles.
Appropriate clothing for weather and activity
Loose fitting, quick drying pants, or shorts
Rain Gear - acts as windbreaker
Long sleeve shirt, wool or synthetic
baseball cap, or other hat
Sturdy walking shoes
One water bottle, min 750ml
Personal sunscreen & bug repellent
1 Headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries
Hat and sunglasses (Polarized sun glasses work best when on the water.)

Compass, guide book of the area & maps
First aid kit
Emergency sleeping bag and other emergency gear
