What We Do!
Hike mountains in Maine! See spectacular views you have never seen before!
I love Maine and want to share its natural beauty, plants, animals, and wild places with you. It can be hard to go to a new place and try new adventures. McClellan's Maine Guided Trips is here to provide you with the best guided hiking and camping trips in Maine's natural, unspoiled wilderness. You will be impressed and amazed with all the natural beauty Maine has to offer! Whatever your comfort level, I will be happy to tailor a trip to meet your abilities. I take hikers through Camden Hills State park, Acadia, and other Maine mountains like Double Top or Tumbledown. Or, go the the challenge of Maine's tallest peak, Katahdin!
I fell in love with outdoor adventures as a young man walking all over the three hundred sixty acre campus of the Lawrenceville School, designed by Fredrick Law Olmstead, and attended by the famed environmentalist, Aldo Leopold. My summers were spent on the side of Mount Monadnock in New Hampshire with summer backpacking camp experiences in the White Mountains, Green Mountains, and Adirondacks. In 1996 I became a Hurricane Island Outward Bound Sailing instructor and in 2016 became a registered Maine Guide. I am also a Maine Guide for Maine Sport in Rockport, leading trips out of their Rockport location. I became a Maine Master Naturalist Volunteer in 2014, completing a rigorous one year, hands-on course in plant and animal identification. In the off season, I teach middle school. I live in Rockport, Maine, a short walk to the harbor, where I have been living with my family for the past 27 years. I love Maine. It is a large state with plenty to explore. I hope we get the chance to explore it together!
And by the way, Bill is a trained chef, so food on the trail will be tasty, nutritional, and filling!
