Becoming a Registered Maine Guide
- Maine requires Guides to be registered to take groups of people on trips in amazing Maine. You do need to have outdoor experience, meet first aid requirements, and pass rigorous tests by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to become a registered Maine Guide. This is not an easy process, but guide training can help. I am currently a registered Maine Guide with recreation, fishing, and, sea kayaking endorsements. I spent six years as an Hurricane Island Outward Bound sailing, and sea kayak instructor. I am a Wilderness First Responder, If you are interested in learning how to become a Registered Maine Guide, please contact me and let me know what test you would like to take, and we can discuss how I may be of assistance to you. There is lots to learn to become a Registered Maine Guide!
